One of the things that makes Barcelona such a beautiful city is, without a doubt, it architecture and historic buildings.
Construction stands out in this Spanish City for its Gothic style and in its mansions, the powerful and gracious churches and state buildings.
Probably, the most interesting thing is that, until the early 1990’s, Barcelona’s architecture was not an interesting subject for the millions of tourists that visited.
Now, lets go through some amazing construction masterpieces.
A true masterpiece, although unfinished, from Gaudi himself. La Sagrada Familia is a true embodiment that mixes religious devotion and unparalleled and infinite imagination.
For many critics, La Sagrada Familia is the most epic of Gaudi’s creations and, as you can see by the images, rightfully so.
The personification of Gothic Architecture, this church is considered by many to be the finest one in Barcelona.
Horizontal lines is one of the things that characterizes this style and this church, built on the 14th century reveals a strong personality and, that same personality, represents the Catalan Gothic Architectural Style.
Another fantastic wonder from the legendary Gaudi, La Pedrera represents his swirling imagination.
Built between 1906 and 1912, this construction is also well known by the name of Casa Milà and it was declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 1984.
Gaudi (yes, another one) was in charge of renovating this block of flats and his mission was to make it look like a mysterious deep-sea creature.
If you decide to visit it (and you should), don’t be admired when you see the long lines, as this is truly a masterpiece of this worlds architecture.
