One of the most iconic Fifth Avenue stores, Tiffany & Co., will never be the same, as the brand’s New York flagship store will undergo a massive renovation scheduled to be completed a far three years from now. So, if you’ve ever dreamt of going to New York and following in the footsteps of Holly Golightly, now might be your chance to do it in even more style. However, there is still time to visit the New York luxury store a few more times as is. The actual renovation of the New York luxury store is scheduled to start on the Spring of 2019. It will take three years until completion and the time we get to see the new look of the 10-floor flagship store. The estimated cost? Nothing short of $250 million, which is estimated to have been 2% of the brand’s revenue last year…

And while this renovation means the store will be temporarily closed, if you find yourself in New York you can still visit Tiffany’s and get one of those coveted small blue boxes, as the brand will relocate next door to the former Niketown location on Fifth Avenue.

“The newly reimagined flagship will serve as the modern crown jewel of our global store network,” stated Alessandro Bogliolo, Tiffany’s chief executive officer.

Since he was appointed as the new CEO of Tiffany & Co., Alessandro Bogliolo has taken as his role to shaken things up and winning over a younger customer base, revitalizing the brand and its image. Until now, Bogliolo has made many dreams come true, opening their all-day Blue Box Cafe (pictured below) on the fourth floor of the flagship store, allowing visitors to actually have breakfast at Tiffany’s.

The store that first opened back in 1940 is now one of the most recognizable buildings in New York’s famous Fifth Avenue, being seen as a tourist attraction that welcomes millions of visitors every year. Popularized by Audrey Hepburn’s iconic Breakfast at Tiffany’s, it has since been the stage and object for many other Hollywood movies and tv series. The flagship store is also home to the world-famous Tiffany Diamond, a 287.42-carat yellow diamond which you can find on permanent display at the New York store.
