Even if you can’t afford to stay at the Riviera Palm Springs Resort, an outstanding resort where stars like Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra would stay overnight, you should take the time to visit their café. At Café Palmeto you will find the most gorgeous palm prints, very in the style of… Palm Springs! If you’re also a mid-century design lover, you will not be able to resist to snap a few Insta Stories.

Take a photo of that pink door
If you’re visiting Palm Springs, one of the reasons might be because you’re a mid-century architecture lover. And if that’s the case, and you love to share beautiful photos on Instagram, make sure you take a walk to visit and take a photo of that pink door. If you don’t know what we’re talking about, you can search Instagram, because #ThatPinkDoor has been tagged thousands of times!
Get to know the Cabazon Dinosaurs
These two iconic dinosaurs, Dinny the Dinosaur and Mr. Rex, were built and set just outside of Palm Springs in 1975 and 1986 respectively. Since then, they have been featured multiple times in several movies and TV shows. In fact, if you search for the hashtag #CabazonDinosaurs on Instagram, you’ll find out that they’re two of the most famous characters from Palm Springs.

See Jonathan Adler’s amazing work
Even if you’re not staying at the Parker Palm Springs Hotel, designed by the amazing Jonathan Adler, you should definitely take some time to go there and take some photos. The whole façade is pretty much quintessential mid-century architecture and Palm Springs, being all white, with a kind of lacy-looking artwork and a bright orange door that contrasts beautifully. Make sure to take a photo and share it with everyone on Instagram!
Visit Moorten Botanical Garden + Cactarium
If you go to Palm Springs and don’t spend some time appreciating their amazing Botanical Garden, you might as well not go at all… Palm Springs, being an arid and desert area in California, has an amazing Cactarium, with around 3,000 species of cactus and other desert-adapted plants, which you see at Moorten. Make sure to share your photos with the iconic hashtag #plantparenthood.

Fall in love with Neutra’s architecture
This is another one for all the mid-century architecture lovers that are visiting Palm Springs for the first time. Mandatory stop? The Kaufmann Desert House, designed by architect Richard Neutra in 1946 to emphasize the connection between architecture and the desert landscape around it. In fact, Neutra is one of the most famous architects in Palm Springs, and you can see more of his work when you’re driving around.
Stay at the Saguaro Hotel
Saguaro Hotel or, as it is mostly known, the rainbow hotel is one of the most iconic and Instagrammable places all over Palm Springs! Make sure to stay there during your time in Palm Springs to make the most of your experience. Bright colors can be seen everywhere, both on the cheery exteriors, as well as the more intimate interiors. One thing is for certain, the perfect picture is just one hotel away.

Venture out on Joshua Tree National Park
Although not quite in Palm Springs, more like an hour drive away, you should not miss the opportunity to visit Joshua Tree National Park in California. The seasonal gardens of the cholla cactus are one of 16 attractions accessible from the park’s 18-mile auto tour! You will be able to capture unique landscape photos, perfect to make your Instagram profile look edgier and more artsy.

Take some me-time on Salvation Mountain
#SalvationMountain has been tagged thousands and thousands of times on Instagram, and after a quick glance at the photos it is easy to understand why. The Salvation Mountain was created by Leonard Knight, and it is covered in religious words and general messages of love. Definitely a unique place to visit in your lifetime, that will give you breathtaking photos to remember.

Try to rent Frank Sinatra’s Twin Palms house
Frank Sinatra’s Twin Palms estate is one of the most famous Palm Springs houses, and an amazing news for every mid-century architecture lover that doesn’t know what to do in Palm Springs, is that you can actually rent it and just hang out with your friends there.
