We’re in 2019 and already getting ready for the most exciting interior design fairs all over the world and taking notice of the newest novelties and trends in the design world. However, it’s also time to take a look back to the very best of 2018, get inspired and learn from it so we take it to a whole other level this year. Today, we take a look at the best hotel interior and architecture of 2018 that we’re sure it will spark new emotions in you.
Quinta da Corte – Portuguese Hotel
Philippe Austruy, falls in love with Quinta da Côrte, and the rest is history. He decides to invest on it and so enters famed French interior designer Pierre Yovanovitch, that completely changes the vibe of the space into the interior design beauty that is today, inspiring us more and more the more we look at it. Yovanovitch has rebuilt all of the main structures, transforming the 19th-century accommodation into eight bedrooms, spread between different buildings.

Guesthouse in Surry Hills, Sidney
Sometimes, mixing different styles is just what you need to create a unique and stunning space that will be inspiring to many. This guesthouse was able to do it, 1920s Art Deco period mixing with a 1970s vibe that is hard to resist. Little Albion Guesthouse in Surry Hills, with interiors designed by Cressida Kennedy of Space Control and Connie Alessi of Archemy, and architecture by Terence Yong Architecture and Chris Haughton of SHED Architects, is the right place to stay at if you enjoy sophisticated design.

Jaffa Hotel in Tel Aviv
The first luxury hotel of its kind, Jaffa appears like a dream amidst Tel Aviv, located within the walls of a 19th-century complex that once housed Jaffa’s French Hospital. It’s just 10 minutes from the beach, but the real attraction is its interior design, stunning and comfortable. Wouldn’t you like to spend a night in this incredible hotel? We would too.
Hotel National des Arts et Métiers, Paris
Set somewhere between the Marais and Montorgueil quartiers in the third arondissement, Hôtel National des Arts & Métiers is new among Paris’ boutiques, and is certainly ready to impress. Paris-based architect Raphael Navot did a wonderful job with this project, creating a stunningly luxurious hotel with ever so present craftsmanship, custom décor and a palette of rich materials.
Emiliano RJ Hotel in Rio de Janeiro
Designed by Studio Arthur Casas, this hotel in Rio De Janeiro features a clear mid-century vibe with a modern twist. With its glorious 60’s inspired white façade, it’s definitely a stunner, an inspiration for design lovers. The decor includes pieces by major names in Brazilian design of the ‘50s, such as Rio’s native Sergio Rodrigues, as well as by contemporary designers, such as the Italian native Paola Lenti.
Amanyangyun Resort in Shanghai, China
Located in Jiangxi, this hotel is the property of Ma Dong, a 28-year-old businessman who was able to see the potential in this building. He enlisted a team of specialists and so it began. Everything was taken care of, from electricity, plumbing and furniture, and so this match made in heaven gave way to this resort that pays tribute to one of China’s most historic areas.
Gowanus Inn & Yard in Brooklyn
Located in Gowanus, a little to the west of Brooklyn proper, is the Gowanus Inn and Yard. Designed by New York and Mexico City-based SAVVY Studio, this hotel features a modern and contemporary style that will appeal to many. With mid-century vignettes and an American style clearly evident as inspiration, the aesthetic is hard to look past and turn the stare another way.
Lindenderry Hotel in Mornington Peninsula
It’s hard to imagine these belong to the same hotel but that couldn’t be more true. A stunning luxury hotel that offers a variety of different styles is always a good choice, especially when it’s done in good taste, with professional interior designers that know how to mix and match perfectly. The “contemporary take on the traditional estate home” was the best decision when tackling on this project.
The Radisson Collection Hotel in Stockholm
The Radisson Collection Hotel, Strand Stockholm opens its doors after an extensive renovation by Swedish Architectural Studio Wingårdhs, revealing a new look that is fit for every design lover and traveler. Stunning in the way it’s presented, this iconic hotel originally opened to coincide with the 1912 Olympics, and it’s now part of Sweden’s history. After this renovation, it’s even more beloved by many, and we can understand exactly why.
Hi-Lo Hotel Lobby in Portland, Oregon
Back in 1999, Alex Calderwood opened the Ace Hotel in Seattle and forever changed our notion of what a luxury hotel could be. Now, years later, this hotel lobby got a renovation, making it feel even more like it was straight out of a dream, a place of peace and relaxation, of design like we’ve never seen before. Pastels and rich colors mixing with wooden and brass are the perfect combination for this lobby.
