The Academy Awards can be a tricky show to host (just remember last year’s edition) but, if there is a person that can pull off the great show we are expecting, is Jimmy Kimmel so, here is what you can expect from Oscars 2018!
The Oscars 2018 is approaching rapidly! So, lets go through this years nominees, legendary moments from last year and what we can expect in this year’s Academy Awards!

Yet another edition of the Academy Awards is coming and we can’t wait for it!
The chosen one for this year’s edition was Jimmy Kimmel. This is the second time Jimmy is hosting the Oscars, has he was the host of last year’s edition and, the producers of the show liked him so much that they have chosen the late night television host to do it again this year.
Last year’s edition kicked-off with a lovely performance from Justin Timberlake, performing his nominated song “Can’t Stop the Feeling” from the movie Trolls.
That moment was great because it got everyone on their feet and dancing, relaxing for what is, traditionally, a very stiff and filled with nerves show.
That was just to start the show with!
Throughout the show, Kimmel managed to keep the audience laughing and amused with his show business skills having in several occasions treated his guests very well, including giving them candy!
Last year’s show was amazing and very funny and, the cherry on top of the cake was that little mix-up when announcing the Best Picture winner.
That moment was made fun of for so long that we bet that it endure as the editions of the Academy Awards go flying by.
Now, onto this year!
There are two main topics you can believe the show is going to be based on: Sexual Harassment Scandals and President Trump.
The topic of Trump was already approached last year but, since the President of the United States is always making news and targeting Hollywood, you can bet it will come up again.
The Sexual Harassment one was obviously talked about in this year’s Golden Globes, with Seth Myers even including the Me Too movement also.

This year’s nominees may come as no surprise for most people but, there are some fascinating elements to it, if you look closely.
First of all, nominated for Best Picture there are movies that deal with multiple genres, including World War II, Racism, Homophobia and so on…
One thing that differentiates the Oscars from other award shows is that they have nine (yes, 9!!) Best Picture Nominees, which, some say, is just to make some producers in Hollywood very happy.
But, in the end, there can only be one winner (or two, if you still remember last year’s edition). Which Film do you think will win? Let us know!

For Best Actor we have Daniel Day-Lewis and Denzel Washington, two legendary actors that are familiar with the feeling of winning Academy Awards. Then, we have Gary Oldman, an amazing Actor that most say as had its Oscar well over-due. Then, we have two actors that are practically starting out in high-caliber films
And, to finish up this article on what to expect, these are the nominees for Best Actress in a Leading Role!
They include the most nominated actress of all time, Meryl Streep, Margot Robbie (who starred in low-production roles until she sky-rocketed after starring in The Wolf of Wall Street), Sally Hawkins (this is Sally’s second Oscar nomination), Frances McDormand (already an Oscar winner) and Saoirse Ronan (this is her 3rd Oscar nomination).
