In 2003 Sir John Sorrell and Ben Evans conceived the London Design Festival, since then London dresses in red and white for one week, during the event. This is one of the most important design events in the world, from 17 to 25 September 2016, will hold its thirteenth edition.
September 2016 has become the month of design in the British capital since the London 2016 Festival Design coincides, for the first time, with the celebration of London Design Biennale 2016 (from 7 to 27 September). It is expected that attendees from over 40 countries will come to this great celebration of design.

London will be covered with the image designed by Pentagram, who for their realization have been based on the concept of ‘zoom small details that often go unnoticed in the design’. Because of this, the font appears on a large scale being the only protagonist of the image. Typographic anatomy highlighted in the printed pieces, discovering interesting shapes and counter blocks. Thus, they propose to view the design from a different perspective.
During nine days of frantic activity throughout the city, distributed in seven different districts, more than four events and facilities (including exhibitions, workshops, lectures, presentations and parties) will expect around 300,000 visitors. All activities in this issue seek to stimulate creative thinking, as well as entertain and arouse the curiosity of the participants at the same time.
Of all the festival activities, it highlights its ambitious program of facilities designed by designers and most important architects of the current scene. These are located in some of the most emblematic areas of London as V & A, Southbank Centre, Tate Modern and Trafalgar Square.
As every year, London Design Festival 2016 will bring together the community of visual artists with the aim to promote and encourage projects related to the power of transformation that has the design. The ideas of more than 300 people who represent the best of London design community, gathered in the city from 17 to 25 September.
